On June 21, in anticipation of the World Day of Migrants and refugees, Cáritas arciprestal de Oviedo held its second inter-religious vigil in a lovely space provided by City Hall.
What was our objective? To generate spaces of encounter and prayer with different creeds but under the same God who nourishes, comforts and illuminates our steps with one and the same light, although from different perspectives. Among those present were Muslims, the Sahwari community, Anglicans, people of the Bahai faith, Evangelicals and Catholics.
Caritas always commits itself to a common home in which the human being is welcomed, protected and integrated, and it promotes life in community. To dialogue to pray, to meet one another, to look into one another’s eyes… is little to ask in order to witness the shared identity, what unites us, what we want to leave as a heritage to future generations, what is unrenounceable when it is a matter of human dignity…at the end, what makes us happy and brothers and sisters of all.
