On February 25 in the morning we left by train for Cordoba and Pedro Abad, beginning our “Pilgrimage to our origins.”

First, Córdoba. There the community was awaiting us with its customary warmth.

In the church we prayed before the altar where our Saint, at the age of 15, made her vow of chastity.

Father José Antonio Rincón SJ celebrated the Eucharist. The homily was very appropriate for this moment; his family has its origins in Pedro Abad, and he is very well acquaint3ed with Saint Raphaela Mary and our charism.

We enjoyed our cultural tour of the city, the highlight of which was the visit to the Cathedral – the Mezquita.

In Pedro Abad the community, as well as forty three Handmaids of all our communities of Andalucía awaited us.  It was an unforgettable fraternal encounter.

The pilgrimage continued with a visit to the house where Raphaela was born, the parish, and the shrine of Santo Cristo, so beloved by our Foundresses.

The ACI Family of Pedro Abad came to greet the new General, and we ended with an adoration in our church.

  1. Rosario Fernández Villarán greeted all those who participated in it and received a warm welcome from the Sisters and the town.

It was an unforgettable and enjoyable day, and we returned to Madrid with grateful hearts.
